Full course information
The assessment of this accredited course proves that you can perform to a suitable recognised standard. Your personal skills will be assessed in your application of strokes, techniques and boat control along with assessment of your skill level in relation to leading a group of 4 competent 3* paddlers in moderate conditions.

Stamped Leadership Registration form (LR) form
- BCU White Water Water Safety and Rescue Training course
BCU 4* WW Kayak leader training
Recognised 2 day first aid award (within the last 3 years)
Must be 18 years or above.
- Previous experience: provide evidence of white water paddling in 4 different regions
This experience must include:
Time spent with a variety of groups in a variety of conditions. Conditions will include low to high water and rivers that are different in nature, including small narrow rivers through to rivers with a wider more open feel to them.
12 grade 3 river trips as a member of a group
12 grade 2(3) river trips as an assistant leader
White water kayak suitable for the remit of this award and the assessment environment
Personal and group equipment appropriate to the remit of the award and relevant to the assessment environment
The conditions will include inland rivers with sections of grade 2-3
